The Invader

This is one of my earliest paintings, and one of the first abstract paintings I attempted. Before this I tried to follow tutorials and make paintings that looked like something from life. I learned a little later that even abstract paintings look like something from life, they just look like things we can not see.

With this painting I tried to just make marks and textures and let it form as it formed. In fact, there are a couple layers underneath that looked like something much different than what it evolved into.
